Black Mountain Yellow Post #5 is one of six free, first-come-first-served dispersed campsites in the San Bernardino National Forest's San Jacinto Ranger District. Accessed via rough Black Mountain Road (4S01) requiring high-clearance 4WD vehicles; not suitable for trailers, RVs, or motorhomes. Limited to 8 persons and 2 vehicles maximum. Amenities limited to picnic table and campfire ring with grill grate. No water, toilets, trash service, or other facilities—pack in/pack out required. 14-day camping limit. California Campfire Permit required for any fire use. Dogs must be leashed. Road typically closed in winter.
