Black Mountain Yellow Post Sites are six primitive, free, first-come, first-served campsites located in the San Bernardino National Forest at approximately 6,594 feet elevation. Each site accommodates a maximum of 8 persons and 2 vehicles. Sites feature only picnic tables and fire rings; no water, restrooms, or trash containers are provided. Access is via Black Mountain Road (Forest Route 4S01), a rough dirt road requiring high-clearance vehicles; 4WD is recommended and motorhomes are not suitable. A 14-day camping limit applies. Campfire permits are required for any fire use. Site #3 is noted as the most isolated and peaceful of the six sites. Dogs must be leashed (maximum 6 feet) or under physical control.
