Black Mountain Yellow Post Sites are primitive, free, first-come-first-served camping areas in San Bernardino National Forest at 6,594 feet elevation. There are six individual sites accessed via Black Mountain Road (Forest Route 4S01), a rough dirt road requiring high-clearance or 4WD vehicles. Each site accommodates up to 8 persons and 2 vehicles maximum, with a 14-day camping limit. Sites feature only picnic tables and fire rings; no water, toilets, or trash containers are available. Campfire permits are required. The road is typically closed during winter months. Dogs must be leashed. Pack out all trash.
