Black Gap WMA features 26 designated primitive hunting campsites and 25 fishing shelters along the Rio Grande, most equipped with picnic tables, fire rings/grills, and shade shelters. All sites are primitive; visitors must bring their own water and pack out trash. The only restroom is at headquarters. Camping requires registration and a Limited Public Use permit; sites are first-come first-served when open. Access restrictions apply March 1-August 31 to Maravillas/Horse Canyons, Rio Grande, and headquarters.
