Black Gap WMA FC 14

Black Gap WMA FC 14 is a primitive fishing campsite within Black Gap Wildlife Management Area, located 55 miles south of Marathon via FM 2627 in west Texas. The site features a picnic table, fire ring/grill, and shade shelter. Visitors must bring their own water and pack out all trash. The only restroom facility is located at the WMA headquarters campsite. Camping is only allowed at designated sites for resource protection. Access is restricted from March 1 to August 31. A $12 annual TPWD permit is required. Registration is required upon arrival at headquarters. Many sites require 4WD vehicles. Only dead and down wood may be collected for firewood, and all campfires must be in provided fire rings. Visitors should watch for venomous snakes, insects, mountain lions, black bears, and flash flooding.
