Black Creek Lake Campground
About this site
Black Creek Lake Campground is a primitive walk-in camping area located on the north shore of the 35-acre Black Creek Lake within the Lyndon B. Johnson National Grassland northwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The campground features 14 walk-in campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis year-round at $10 per night. The recreation area provides a concrete boat ramp for lake access, picnic facilities, and connections to the LBJ Multiuse Trail System. Black Creek Lake offers fishing opportunities and is popular with anglers and paddlers. The campground has vault toilets but no potable water, so visitors must bring their own drinking water. Each campsite includes a fire pit and picnic table. Day use is $2 per vehicle, and various recreation passes are honored. Payment can be made on-site via cash, check, or by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app. Interagency Senior and Access passes provide a 50% discount on overnight camping fees.
