Big Rock Campground is an open-year round site that is accessed from Forest Service Road 4N11. 4N11 is closed seasonally from beginning of May to mid-November. During winter months, when Forest Service Road 4N11 is closed, you must hike in 1/8th mile from gate. Amenities: 8 campsites with one designated picnic table and campfire ring. Vault toilets. Trash receptacles. No piped water available.(Please bring enough water for cooking, cleaning, drinking, and extinguishing campfires.) Additional Info: Campsites are well-spaced in a peaceful oak grove along Big Rock Creek. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring with grate. The remote location results in light usage, making it ideal for those seeking solitude in the San Gabriel Mountains. Nearby attractions include Devil's Punchbowl Natural Area and the Pacific Crest Trail. An Adventure Pass is required for vehicles.
