Big Rock Campground, part of Big Rock Forest Preserve, is located at 46W499 Granart Rd., Big Rock, IL. The campground is open seasonally, May 1 through the third Sunday in October, each year. The campground contains 109 campsites including 96 improved vehicle campsites with 50/30/20-amp electrical service, water access, parking pads and fire rings; 9 primitive tent-only sites without electric access; and 4 equestrian campsites. Bathrooms are available on-site; there are no showers. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis for walk-up arrivals, though online reservations are required for advance bookings (reservations open April 1 each year at 9 a.m. Central time). Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at noon. A dump station is available for $15. Firewood bundles are available for $10, and outside firewood may be brought in.
