Site 23 at Big Pines Recreation Site, a BLM-managed campground in the Yakima River Canyon near Ellensburg, Washington. This is a standard nonelectric site with a picnic table and fire ring. The site is part of BLM's largest recreation area in the Yakima River Canyon, which winds through massive basalt cliffs and rolling desert hills. The campground offers vault toilets, dumpsters, and non-motorized river access. No hookups or potable water are provided. Reservations are accepted through Recreation.gov from May 1 to September 30; outside this period, camping is first-come, first-served with self-pay. The site is open year-round.
