Big Bend Group Campground is located 19 miles west of Truckee in the Tahoe National Forest at an elevation of 5,700 feet, nestled along the South Yuba River. The campground offers two accessible group sites, Victory and Lincoln, each accommodating up to 25 people and 5 vehicles. Stands of pine and fir provide pleasant shade across the sites. Amenities include tables, grills, group fire rings, vault toilets, and potable water. The campground is available for both RV and tent camping, though there are no RV hookups and size restrictions on RVs apply (maximum 25 feet). Visitors enjoy the area for fishing and hiking opportunities, including nearby day hiking and backpacking at the Loch Leven Trailhead. The campground is located right off I-80 on Old Highway 40, behind Big Bend U.S. Forest Service Fire Station. Normally operates Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend; contact Tahoe National Forest at (530) 265-4531 for current information.
