Bertha Lake Backcountry Campground
About this site
Backcountry campground located at Bertha Lake in Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta. Accessible via a 6.5 km (4.1 mile) hike from the Bertha trailhead in Waterton townsite. The trail gains 460 m (1,509 feet) elevation and takes approximately 4.5 hours. Campground is equipped with tent pads, outhouses, food storage bins, and picnic tables. Permits required and must be reserved in advance through Parks Canada Visitor Centre or by calling (403) 859-5133. No campfires allowed at this site. Popular day-hike destination with opportunities for wildlife viewing and access to additional backcountry trails including Bertha Peak and Mount Richard Bennett.
