Ben Ries Campground
About this site
Ben Ries Campground is located in Butano State Park, surrounded by redwood forest. It offers 21 drive-in sites for tents, trailers, and RVs, and 18 walk-in tent sites requiring gear to be carried 20-50 yards from parking. There is also a hike/bike site and 8 trail campsites for backpackers 5.5 miles from the entrance. Amenities include flush toilets and potable water. The campground has been closed indefinitely since the 2020 CZU fire due to water system damage requiring rebuild, with a Jan 2025 update confirming ongoing closure.
