Barren Fork Horse Camp

Barren Fork Horse Camp is located in the Stearns District of the Daniel Boone National Forest, offering 41 campsites that accommodate horse trailers and RVs up to 35 feet. A picnic shelter is available for group-use. Several interconnecting trails provide miles of riding pleasure, including Arabian #622 (4 miles) and Canter #625 (2.75 miles). A nearby pond provides water for horses and fishing opportunities. The site was formerly a coal mining town from 1881 to 1935. Season: April 1st - November 15th, open 24 hours/day. Overnight Use: Single Site: $15 per night. Pay at site using fee envelope with cash or check only. America the Beautiful Interagency Senior and Access passes provide a 50% discount when purchased from a Forest office. Potable water available from faucets. Vault toilets meet accessibility standards. Picnic tables at shelter and some sites. Horse/pack animals allowed with negative Coggins test required.
