About this site
Close to Ashcroft, Barnes Lake is a popular fishing lake for rainbow trout. Fly fishing and trolling are the preferred methods. Buy a fishing licence, read the regulations and view fish stocking reports HERE. This camp site has 15 defined vehicle units in 3 separate locations. There are nine at the north end, one mid-way with a concrete pad (usually reserved for the Site Operator), and 5 on the west/south end of the site. Day Users please park in the Day Use area. The lake water level can fluctuate causing the boat launch at the north end to flood during periods of high water. Visit nearby Willard Lake while you are in the area. Please use the site responsibly. As per the Forest Recreation Regulations;Camping is limited to a maximum of 14 consecutive days per visit.No reserving or holding of campsites, no unoccupied trailers, tents, chairs, vehicles may save a site or reserve it for others. All sites are first come, first serve.Camping is only permitted in the designated camping spots.All dogs must be on a leash at all times (for all Kamloops Recreation Sites).
