Barbecue Terrace Group Camp

Barbecue Terrace is a primitive group campsite within Mount Diablo State Park designed for tent camping only. The site accommodates up to 50 people and 50 horses, with horse ties available for equestrian groups. Amenities include picnic tables, fire pits, vault toilets, and running water (subject to seasonal availability). RVs are not permitted due to narrow, winding access roads. Reservations are made through ReserveCalifornia up to six months in advance. The site is located within Mount Diablo State Park's 20,000 acres of protected lands. Park gates open at 8:00 a.m. and close at sunset. During fire season (May 15 to October 1), campers must call the park one day prior to arrival to confirm the park is not closed due to extreme fire danger.
