Overview Backbone Horse Campground is a small, semi-primitive campground designed primarily for campers or picnickers that bring horses with them. Additional Info: The campground is located in Finger Lakes National Forest at 1,677 feet elevation and offers 10 primitive campsites. Sites #5-9 are reserved for horseback users from Memorial Day to Columbus Day, while remaining sites welcome both horse users and non-horse users. All campsites are first-come, first-served. Amenities include vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. There is no potable water or showers. One site accommodates Class A RVs. The campground is open from Memorial Day through November, with year-round access for hiking. Maximum stay is 14 days in any 30-day period. Dogs must be leashed at all times. Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
