Overview This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may be able to pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature. If this option is available, you will need to first download the free Recreation.gov mobile app https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service. Additional Info: Almont Campground is located adjacent to Colorado State Highway 135 in walking distance of the Almont Gorge, where the East River and Taylor River join to form the Gunnison River. The landscape is mostly aspen and cottonwood trees. Recreation opportunities include 4-wheel driving, mountain biking, and kayaking. The campground operates May 23 through October 1 (weather dependent). Single site cost is $18 per night with an additional vehicle fee of $9 per night. Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Off-highway vehicle use is not allowed in the campground.
