Ajax Lake is a small alpine lake (18.78 acres) at 8,522-8,530 ft elevation in Beaverhead National Forest, popular for hiking, fishing, and dispersed camping. Access is via a rough 4WD road (FSR-625/Big Swamp Creek Road) from MT-278 south of Wisdom, MT; the final stretch is very steep and rocky, or park lower and hike in. Additional Info: Dispersed camping area available along the access road at 7,280 ft.
