Afton State Park Campground is a unique hike-in camping destination located on the rolling bluffs above the St. Croix River in Washington County. The 28 backpacking campsites are reached via a challenging 0.75 to 1.25-mile uphill hike from the parking area, making this strictly a carry-in, carry-out experience with no vehicle access. Additional Info: Open year-round for reservations. Solar-powered water pump centrally located. Vault toilets available. Firewood available at central location (campers cut their own). Each site has picnic table and fire ring. Pets allowed.
