A.T. Carter Gap Shelter is a three-sided Adirondack-style shelter on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail in the Nantahala National Forest, North Carolina. It provides overnight shelter for Appalachian Trail hikers and has space for additional tent camping. Additional Info: - Capacity: Sleeps approximately 8 people in the shelter - Amenities: Privy (outhouse toilet), nearby water source - No bear storage facilities (hang food properly) - Elevation: 4,518 feet - Managed by USDA Forest Service
