Campsite #42 at the end of Spruce Mountain Trail (1.1-1.2 mile hike one-way from Balsam Mountain Road) in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. One of the park's highest campsites at 5,450 feet elevation. Requires backcountry permit for overnight use. Additional Info: Managed by National Park Service as a backcountry site.
